San Francisco Trip

A few months ago, I was invited to speak to the employees of Genomic Health in Redwood City, CA, near San Francisco. This is a great company that performs tests on breast cancer patients to help oncologists and patients make informed treatment decisions. Each year, they select a "patient ambassador" and this year it was me! I invited the most special girls in my life to share this experience with me- my daughter Melanie, my mom, Marcela, my sister, Chari, and my niece Natalie. We spent 2 days in Redwood City, and 2 in San Francisco.
Here's a link to the company website. They were kind enough to include my story in their patient profile section.

60 miles - 3 days - 1 Cause

Melanie is training
for the Dallas 3 Day Walk
in November. She works out
with a personal trainer 3-4 days/week, along with walking/running with either Mark or her 3 Day teammate, Taylor. They have done several 10-mile walks, and one 16 mile walk! That one took 5 hours. I'm so proud of her!! I've been working with a trainer as well, but I won't ready for the 3 Day this year. Maybe in 2010! We've also started the fundraising for this event. She hand painted wine and martini glasses and I decorated glass bottles (pictured above) Fun stuff!

Race for the Cure

I was so excited that all four of us walked in the Ft. Worth Race for the Cure in April. My sister Chari, and my niece, Natalie joined us, as well as my cousin Rick and his son Eric from Austin.
